Location: Remote or Hybrid at Cracow | Poland-based candidates
We are hiring on behalf of our client, a leading global financial institution that serves millions of customers across personal banking, capital markets, and wealth management. You’ll join a long-term initiative within their capital markets division, supporting systems used by analysts and economists for risk assessment and financial simulations.
You’ll work on a core internal platform designed for financial risk calculations. The system is used daily by internal teams and consists of three major components:
- A Microsoft Excel front end with custom-built functions and menus
- A business logic layer built in C++ and Python
- A large-scale computing grid (50,000+ nodes) operating across internal infrastructure and cloud environments (AWS & Azure)
- Your role will involve developing new features, resolving bugs, and modernizing parts of the system for better performance and scalability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain C++ code
- Troubleshoot and fix production issues
- Collaborate with analysts, developers, and technical leads to implement new features
- Contribute to the modernization and optimization of existing systems
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in software development, with strong expertise in C++
- Experience with complex financial or trading systems
- Familiarity with institutional equity or derivatives platforms (experience with Fusion Sophis is a plus)
- C1 level of English, both written and spoken
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to understand quantitative and financial concepts
- Experience using version control tools (preferably Git)
- Educational background in software engineering, computer science, mathematics, or a related field
Nice to Have
- FinTech or banking sector experience
- Proficiency in Python
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and the Flask framework
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
