About the Role
As a Buyer – Supply Chain, you will support the sourcing and procurement of critical hardware used in satellite flight control, power, propulsion, and structural systems.
You will manage day-to-day procurement activities, from RFQs/RFIs and purchase orders through supplier follow-up and delivery, ensuring components are available according to production schedules.
Working closely with suppliers, engineering, quality, production, and finance teams, you will help translate technical requirements into reliable supply while supporting a growing international supplier network.
This role is well suited to a buyer with experience sourcing technical components or hardware in aerospace, electronics, automotive, industrial, or other complex manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and issue RFQs and RFIs for technical components and consolidate supplier responses for evaluation.
- Place and manage purchase orders end-to-end, from order confirmation through delivery.
- Follow up with suppliers regarding confirmations, lead times, delivery dates, and shipment status.
- Proactively identify and escalate potential delivery delays or supply risks.
- Maintain procurement documentation, contracts, and supplier records for audit and compliance purposes.
- Manage operational procurement activities, including PO amendments, ERP data updates, and invoice reconciliation.
- Support category owners and senior supply chain specialists with sourcing activities and supplier communication.
- Coordinate with engineering, quality, production, and finance to align procurement activities with production requirements.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and provide status updates for category and management reviews.
Requirements
Required
- 2+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or buying technical components or hardware.
- Experience preparing RFQs/RFIs and managing purchase orders end-to-end.
- Previous exposure to a manufacturing environment, ideally aerospace, electronics, automotive, industrial, or other technology-driven hardware production.
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when managing multiple suppliers and orders.
- Ability to work effectively with engineering, production, quality, and other cross-functional teams.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven production environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Comfortable working with international suppliers and stakeholders.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
Nice to Have
- Experience sourcing flight hardware, electronics, electromechanical components, propulsion systems, power systems, or composite structures.
- Familiarity with technical drawings, specifications, or Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Experience working in aerospace, defence, electronics, automotive, or other complex hardware industries.
- Exposure to procurement within a rapidly scaling manufacturing organization.
- Experience supporting supplier development, sourcing, or category management activities.
