We are hiring for a company which is a pioneering space technology company specializing in advanced propulsion systems for small satellites. They are global experts in satellite propulsion, pushing the boundaries of streamlined in-orbit mobility for the rapidly expanding satellite constellation industry. Their clients across the US, Europe, and Asia trust us to design and deliver high-performance, precision-engineered propulsion systems that push technological boundaries while meeting demanding timelines and budgets. They made history in 2019 and 2020 with the world’s first in-orbit demonstrations of a unique state-of-the-art fueled electric propulsion systems. Today, they are experiencing rapid growth, with over 300 systems ordered to date.
Your mission:
As Automation Engineer you will be responsible for the conception, design and implementation of electronic systems necessary for the production and testing of the space propulsion systems. You will also create digital tools and interfaces to facilitate the tracking of parts and the quality processes.
As part of the Industrialization team, you will work on the automation and control of the thruster firings and acceptance tests, providing a reliable process to increase production capacity. The role requires a self-driven and creative engineer, proposing and implementing solutions tailored to the ever-changing needs of the company. This is an exciting opportunity to industrialize the existing and the future propulsion systems.
Key responsibilities:
- Creating and maintaining electronics and software production tools.
- Industrialize processes for the production line.
- Create or implement external interfaces for automated programming and data analysis.
- Address production line needs with automation improvements.
- Produce relevant documentation (design reports, procedures, validation plans).
- Report directly to the Head of Product Management, as part of the Industrialization team.
- Communicate with other teams.
Skills and qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Engineering (Embedded system, Robotics, Electronics or related field) or a similar technical discipline is required.
- Strong electronics design and rapid-prototyping skills (schematics, PCB layout, sensor/instrument integration). Competence in software development (Python, C/C++, or similar).
- Hands-on experience building user interfaces and digital dashboards for device control and telemetry data analysis.
- Communication skills in written and spoken English, French is a plus.
- Industrial or space experience is a plus.
