About the Role
We are currently seeking a Communications Technology & EMC Engineer to join the Communications & Radar department in Bremen.
The position focuses on antenna subsystem development and system-level EMC/EMI engineering within satellite platforms. The engineer will support design, integration, verification, and qualification activities, ensuring electromagnetic compatibility and RF performance in complex space environments.
This is a technically demanding role with strong system-level impact across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform system-level EMC/EMI analysis for satellite communication and radar subsystems
- Support antenna subsystem development and RF integration activities
- Define and implement EMC mitigation strategies (shielding, grounding, filtering)
- Contribute to architecture reviews during early design phases
- Prepare and review EMC-related technical documentation and requirements
- Support integration, verification, and qualification campaigns (ECSS compliance)
- Coordinate with RF, mechanical, power, and systems engineering teams
- Participate in test campaigns (radiated & conducted emissions, susceptibility, environmental qualification)
Your Profile
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
- Proven experience in EMC/EMI engineering within aerospace, defence, space, automotive (system-level), or telecom hardware environments
- Strong understanding of RF systems and antenna integration
- Experience with relevant standards (e.g., ECSS, MIL-STD, DO-160, CISPR or similar)
- Familiarity with EMC testing methodologies and lab environments
- Ability to work in multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Structured and analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills
- Fluent in English (German is a plus)
