The organization contributes to large-scale European space programs in areas such as Earth observation, satellite communications, space exploration, security, and ground segment operations, delivering highly reliable systems that combine cutting-edge engineering with stringent security and compliance requirements.

To support the continued growth of its cybersecurity and information security capabilities, the company is expanding its engineering team and is seeking an experienced Information Security Engineer to contribute to the protection of space and ground systems, support security compliance activities, and help develop next-generation security solutions for the space sector.

Key Responsibilities

Information Security & Cybersecurity

  • Develop information security concepts and security architectures for space and ground segment projects.
  • Define and implement technical and organizational security measures.
  • Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and project-specific security requirements.
  • Support software, systems, and infrastructure teams on cybersecurity-related topics.

Security Operations & Engineering

  • Perform security assessments and evaluate cybersecurity controls within project environments.
  • Identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation measures.
  • Contribute to the hardening and secure configuration of Linux and Windows environments.
  • Support logging, monitoring, and security automation initiatives using tools such as Ansible, PowerShell, and Python.
  • Plan, organize, and execute information security activities throughout the project lifecycle.

Research & Innovation

  • Contribute to the development of advanced cybersecurity solutions for space systems.
  • Participate in studies and innovation projects focused on emerging security technologies, including secure communications, advanced cryptography, and resilient infrastructure architectures.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience in cybersecurity, information security, or security engineering.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks and standards such as:
    • ISO 27001
    • BSI IT-Grundschutz
  • Experience with Linux and/or Windows administration.
  • Knowledge of scripting, automation, or infrastructure security is considered a strong advantage.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Interest in working within a highly regulated and mission-critical aerospace environment.
