About the Company

We are recruiting a National Security Officer on behalf of a fast-growing international space technology company developing next-generation Earth observation satellite systems.

The company operates in the space and defence sector, delivering advanced satellite-based intelligence and monitoring capabilities to institutional and commercial customers worldwide. Its technologies support applications related to security, surveillance, environmental monitoring, maritime awareness, disaster response, and critical infrastructure protection.

With an international footprint and rapidly expanding operations across Europe, the company is expanding its presence in Greece and is looking for an experienced security professional to establish and lead its national classified security framework.

About the Role

As the National Security Officer, you will be responsible for establishing and leading the classified security function for the company’s Greek operations.

This is a strategic and operational leadership role where you will own the roadmap to achieve and maintain national classified operating capability. Acting as the company’s officially appointed Security Officer, you will lead all interactions with Greek national authorities, drive facility and personnel security clearances, oversee classified IT accreditation, and implement the operational security framework required to support highly sensitive defence programmes.

Working closely with Global Security, legal, IT, engineering, and government stakeholders, you will ensure the organisation meets all national security requirements while enabling business growth within Greece’s defence ecosystem.

This position is ideal for professionals with extensive experience in industrial security, defence, aerospace, intelligence, or critical infrastructure environments who have successfully managed national security accreditation and classified programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of the roadmap to establish fully compliant classified operations in Greece, including facility, personnel, and IT security accreditation.
  • Serve as the company’s appointed National Security Officer and represent the organisation before Greek national security and defence authorities.
  • Manage relationships with the General Directorate for Defence Investments and Armaments (GDDIA / ΓΔΑΕΕ) and other relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Partner with the Global Security team to implement security policies, procedures, secure facilities, and compliance frameworks.
  • Coordinate personnel security clearances and support the accreditation of classified IT systems.
  • Ensure compliance with Greek, NATO, and EU classified information regulations and enable the secure handling of classified information across the organisation.
  • Support security audits, inspections, and continuous improvement of the organisation’s security framework.

Requirements

Required

  • Extensive hands-on knowledge of the Greek national classified information framework, including governing legislation, industrial security regulations, and practical implementation within defence programmes.
  • Proven experience serving as a Security Officer (or equivalent position) within a defence, intelligence, aerospace, or critical infrastructure organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience establishing or scaling national classified operations and achieving higher national classification levels in Greece.
  • Strong knowledge of Facility Security Clearance processes (e.g. EKBA), Personnel Security Clearances, and classified information handling requirements.
  • Experience working with the General Directorate for Defence Investments and Armaments (GDDIA / ΓΔΑΕΕ) and other relevant national security authorities.
  • Practical understanding of NATO and EU security classification frameworks and their interaction with Greek national regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of classified IT security accreditation processes, national baseline security standards, and approval pathways for classified systems.
  • Experience developing security policies, procedures, governance frameworks, and audit-ready documentation.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage effectively with government authorities, executive leadership, and technical teams.
  • Fluent Greek and English, both written and spoken.

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting multinational defence or aerospace programmes.
  • Knowledge of international industrial security standards and cross-border classified information sharing.
  • Experience working in fast-growing or international technology organisations.
  • Background in cybersecurity, information assurance, or secure IT infrastructure.
  • Previous collaboration with NATO or EU security organisations.
  • Professional certifications in security management, information security, or risk management.

Benefits

  • Opportunity to build and lead the national security function for a rapidly growing international space technology company.
  • Direct involvement in cutting-edge Earth observation and defence programmes with global impact.
  • Strategic role with high visibility across executive leadership and government stakeholders.
  • International and collaborative working environment.
  • Career growth opportunities within a rapidly expanding organisation operating at the forefront of the space and defence industry.
  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.

For more than ten years, I’ve been driven by one idea — the future of Space and Defense depends on the people behind it. My career began in technical recruitment, where I had the privilege to hire engineers designing cutting-edge systems for aerospace and advanced manufacturing.

Co-founding Demexios was a natural next step: a way to transform my industry knowledge and relationships into a dedicated structure that helps clients recruit faster, smarter, and with strategic alignment.
Over time, I built long-term partnerships with companies leading technological sovereignty — from NewSpace startups developing electric propulsion to defense integrators modernizing tactical and surveillance systems. These collaborations allowed me to form a powerful network of decision-makers, project leaders, and experts who now trust Demexios to deliver when precision truly matters.
Today, my role is not just to connect candidates and companies — it’s to ensure that every hire strengthens our clients projects.

I’ve built my career in sales and recruitment across several industries space, tech, healthcare, and defense. I’ve always been drawn to innovation and the talented people who turn ideas into reality. Over the years, I’ve learned how much a motivated and skilled team can define a company’s success and how the right people will shape the future of the New Space and defense industries.

My international background has allowed me to work with both startups and global organizations, helping them identify individuals who truly fit their culture and business goals. This combination of experience in technology and talent acquisition naturally led to the creation of Demexios.

At Demexios, our mission is simple: to connect experts with the companies that need their skills particularly in the defense and space sectors. I firmly believe that no ambitious project can succeed without a skilled and cohesive team driving it forward.

My commitment is to be a trusted partner for our clients, supporting them step by step in building strong, high-performing teams that deliver tangible results whether their ambitions lie on Earth or beyond.
