We are supporting a leading European space systems manufacturer in the recruitment of several senior technical profiles within its Digital Telecommunications Payload organization. These hires are driven by ongoing program growth and the ramp-up of multiple national, institutional, and commercial satellite programs.
Role & Responsibilities
You will contribute to the design, development, and qualification of advanced digital telecom payloads for institutional and commercial satellite missions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Participation in early-phase studies as well as Phase C/D satellite programs
- Technical contribution to proposals and bids for national and international space projects
- Definition and development of digital payload architectures and designs
- Technical assessment and coordination of payload suppliers
- Execution of high-frequency and payload performance analyses
- Close technical interaction with suppliers of active and passive RF components
- Support to system engineering and AIT teams throughout payload integration and testing
- Preparation and execution of payload test campaigns
- Leadership or participation in payload PDRs/CDRs and support to system-level reviews
- Definition, execution, and evaluation of payload tests:
- Ground tests (IFT, TVAC, CATR, FFT)
- In-orbit tests (IOT)
- Technical interface with customers on payload-related programmatic and engineering topics
Project Environment & Technical Scope
The team is engaged across a broad portfolio of programs, including:
- National defense and institutional satellite missions
- ESA and future European telecom initiatives
- Advanced telecom payload Phase C/D developments
Core technical domains include:
- Digital telecom payload performance
- Link budgets and antenna performance
- RF and microwave technologies
- Active antennas and beamforming
- Frequency coordination and routing
- Anti-jamming and anti-spoofing technologies
Profile & Requirements
Education & Experience
- Degree in Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Microwave Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in the aerospace or satellite sector
- Solid background in high-frequency / RF technologies
Technical Skills
- Experience with active antenna systems (including beamforming)
- Knowledge of on-board processing and routing technologies
- Familiarity with transmission standards such as DVB-S2X / RCS2
- Exposure to 5G / 6G mobile communications standards and related network protocols is a strong plus
Soft Skills
- Strong organizational and prioritization abilities
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Comfortable working in international, multidisciplinary teams
