About the Company

Our client is a fast-growing European technology company operating at the intersection of satellite technology, Earth observation, artificial intelligence and geospatial analytics.

Its technology transforms satellite data into actionable intelligence, helping organisations monitor critical assets, improve situational awareness, strengthen resilience and make better operational decisions.

As the company expands its activities within the government, defence and security sectors across Germany and Europe, it is now looking for its first dedicated Government & Defence Marketing hire.

This is a highly entrepreneurial role. You will build the marketing function for this business area from the ground up and work closely with Business Development, senior leadership and the wider marketing organisation.

You will own the full marketing picture — from positioning and product marketing to strategic communications, PR, content and major European defence and space events.

Your responsibilities

1. Positioning & Product Marketing

You will define how the company presents its solutions to government and defence audiences.

  • Developing messaging around topics such as resilience, situational awareness, intelligence and geospatial monitoring
  • Translating complex technology into clear value propositions for government, defence and security stakeholders
  • Creating and maintaining sales and marketing collateral, including capability briefs, presentations, one-pagers and tender-support materials
  • Managing government and defence-related website content
  • Monitoring competitor positioning and market developments across the European defence-tech, space and Earth observation ecosystem
  • Working closely with Business Development to ensure messaging supports commercial opportunities and procurement processes

2. Strategic Communications, Content & PR

You will help build the company’s voice and visibility within the European defence and security ecosystem.

  • Develop white papers, expert articles, use cases and thought-leadership content
  • Support press releases, announcements and external communications
  • Build relationships with defence, security, space and technology media
  • Strengthen executive visibility through LinkedIn, interviews and speaking opportunities

3. Events

You will own the government and defence events strategy across Europe.

  • Own the defence and government events calendar across Europe
  • Select the right conferences and industry events
  • Manage participation end-to-end, including budget, presence, speaking opportunities and team preparation
  • Ensure structured post-event follow-up and track results

4. Build the Marketing Function

As the first dedicated marketer for this business area, you will have the opportunity to build the function from the ground up.

  • Build the Government & Defence marketing playbook from scratch
  • Create processes, templates and best practices
  • Coordinate external agencies or freelancers where needed
  • Track key indicators such as visibility, inbound interest and event performance

Your profile

We are looking for someone comfortable operating independently in a complex and highly specialised market.

Ideally, you bring:

  • 6–7+ years of professional experience across marketing, business development, sales, communications or a related function
  • Strong experience within the defence, security or defence-technology ecosystem
  • Familiarity with military terminology and communication with armed forces, government organisations or defence stakeholders
  • A broad marketing profile covering several areas such as product marketing, content, PR, communications and events
  • Excellent written and spoken German (C1+) and English
  • Strong writing and editing skills, from press releases and executive communications to capability briefs
  • Understanding of how government and defence organisations operate, communicate and procure
  • Awareness of the sensitivity, protocol and long sales cycles associated with public-sector and defence environments
  • Based in Germany and able to work remotely
  • Willingness to travel approximately 20–30% across Europe
  • Eligibility to obtain the security clearances required for relevant projects

Nice to have

Experience in one or more of the following areas would be particularly valuable:

  • Earth observation
  • Satellite technology
  • Space technology
  • Geospatial intelligence
  • Defence intelligence / ISR
  • Dual-use technology
  • Public affairs or government relations
  • European or NATO-related institutions

Additional European languages are also valuable, particularly French.

Why join?

This is an opportunity to join a rapidly growing European technology company working on sophisticated applications of AI, satellite data and geospatial intelligence.

You will:

  • Build a strategic marketing function almost from scratch
  • Have direct exposure to senior leadership and commercial decision-making
  • Influence the company’s go-to-market strategy within the European government and defence market
  • Work closely with experienced Business Development and technical teams
  • Take ownership of high-impact projects with significant autonomy
  • Work in an international environment alongside colleagues from diverse professional and cultural backgrounds
  • Participate in the growth of a company operating in one of Europe’s most dynamic technology sectors
  • Benefit from the flexibility of a remote setup within Germany

For more than ten years, I’ve been driven by one idea — the future of Space and Defense depends on the people behind it. My career began in technical recruitment, where I had the privilege to hire engineers designing cutting-edge systems for aerospace and advanced manufacturing.

Co-founding Demexios was a natural next step: a way to transform my industry knowledge and relationships into a dedicated structure that helps clients recruit faster, smarter, and with strategic alignment.
Over time, I built long-term partnerships with companies leading technological sovereignty — from NewSpace startups developing electric propulsion to defense integrators modernizing tactical and surveillance systems. These collaborations allowed me to form a powerful network of decision-makers, project leaders, and experts who now trust Demexios to deliver when precision truly matters.
Today, my role is not just to connect candidates and companies — it’s to ensure that every hire strengthens our clients projects.

I’ve built my career in sales and recruitment across several industries space, tech, healthcare, and defense. I’ve always been drawn to innovation and the talented people who turn ideas into reality. Over the years, I’ve learned how much a motivated and skilled team can define a company’s success and how the right people will shape the future of the New Space and defense industries.

My international background has allowed me to work with both startups and global organizations, helping them identify individuals who truly fit their culture and business goals. This combination of experience in technology and talent acquisition naturally led to the creation of Demexios.

At Demexios, our mission is simple: to connect experts with the companies that need their skills particularly in the defense and space sectors. I firmly believe that no ambitious project can succeed without a skilled and cohesive team driving it forward.

My commitment is to be a trusted partner for our clients, supporting them step by step in building strong, high-performing teams that deliver tangible results whether their ambitions lie on Earth or beyond.
